Yoga, Mditation and Greece

What could be more appropriate than meditation, yoga and Pilates in an amazing Greek location?
Eyal Anavi, the founder of YOGA TRAVEL, came up with the brilliant idea of this combination 16 years ago on a beach vacation in Sinai while watching his then girlfriend practicing meditation with other tourists. Already then, he saw the potential, that realized into a successful business specializing in vacations, content and unconventional destinations, including body-soul workshops, with the most professional teachers and instructors in Israel.
On May 17-21, during the jewish holiday of Shavuot, a Meditation and Pilates workshop will take place in Drepano, a small picturesque town in the Peloponnese, Greece. Suitable for advanced practitioners as well as for beginners and complete newbies.
Drepano is a 10-minute drive from the great city of Nafplio, which was the capital of Greece in the 18th century. The workshop is hosted by a small and intimate family hotel, which works with local tourism only and is not listed on the Internet. The hotel was built two years ago and its owner has a beachfront camping site and a restaurant. A special practice hall was built on the site, overlooking the orchards, the sea and the nearby horse farm.
Eyal says: “In the past, we were doing the workshops in northern Cyprus, and I felt like I wanted to look for a new place. I chose southern Greece, the Peloponnese, because it is not commercialized and less touristic.
Drepano is a quiet, isolated agricultural town, and allows complete tranquility during the stay and the practice. The hotel itself is 250 meters from the sea and although the beaches are full during the summer, the location provides a complete break to create the peace and quiet needed for the workshop, but also close enough for those who want to experience the nightlife, taverns and the bustle of the beach bathers. It’s possible to enjoy both worlds”.
This holiday package includes breakfast and dinner. The food is authentic, Greek, delicious and prepared from the organic crops of the village. Meals are also suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
The rooms are of a high standard, fully equipped, the hotel is renovated, breakfast is eaten in the dining room and dinner at the restaurant on the beach. The hotel is surrounded with citrus orchards and fragrant citrus fruits.
The journey from Athens to the place is about two hours on an organized bus, and the package includes two tours in the area of the town. The first is a hike on a Sugar Mountain, where the Greeks celebrated the Christian holidays with two-day wine feasts and at its summit there is a small Orthodox church overlooking a spectacular view.
A second trip is to get to know the place, including the city of Nafplio, which is a stunningly beautiful, ancient Venetian port city that has a promenade along the coastline, narrow alleys, taverns, boutiques and small hotels, a central square and a citadel.
Another trip offered at an additional cost is a cruise to the island of Hydra.
On the last day before the flight, you arrive at noon in Athens and you can walk around the city for 6-7 hours.
The upcoming workshop in Shavuot is in high demand, accompanied by Shalom Zohar (Yoga & meditation) and Tamar Even-Kesef (Pilates).
