Workshop Space in Agina

11/3/19

Among the spreading pistachio and olive trees, on Aegina island in the Saronic gulf, about an hour more or less from Piraeus, reside Emma and Markos’ home and workshop space, in which they shall host in May a 4 day long unique retreat.

Emma and Markos live on the island for nearly three years now, to which they gravitated following Markos’ Greek roots.

Emma describes life on the island as a place of sublime beauty – crisp blue sea, ancient olive groves, brilliant nature and illustrious energy.
Lately, the financial crisis seems to have declined from its prime days and the island attracts plenty of enthusiastic young spirits and a bloom of creation and innovations.

Heart to Heart – Compassionate communication

The retreat attends the themes of artistic self-expression and ‘compassionate communication’ tools for life, the fruits of the work of Dr. Marshal Rosenberg – aiming at helping us manage the interpersonal, social, organizational and personal connection relying practical methods based on listening, trust and empathy.

Emma

Emma – Ceramicist, Artist and experienced teacher will deliver the workshops, between the almond and pistachio trees.
She has practiced and lived in England, Australia and Israel, managing art projects in festivals and tutoring expressive art in schools.
The meeting point between creative expression with compassionate communication is a central ingredient in her teachings and craft, and she continues researching more paths of communication and with others and ourselves to this day.

Markos

Markos – A tour guide and chef, and a graduate of the Le monde Gastronomy, Patisserie and tourism institute, shall provide rich Mediterranean vegetarian meals at the retreat.

The Retreat

The workshops offer tools for compassionate communication, and will be a place to explore non-judgmental, self-expression. Discovering how to observe a situation and divide emotions, thoughts and ‘analysing’. Listening from the heart and expressing  our emotions and needs in the search of harmony, letting go of self-criticism and judgment, encompassing meditation, movement and creation are all elements that will be explored together.

The Retreat will be held in English.
